Nathan reports on his time in Santorini

Nathan recently travelled to the beautiful Greek island of Santorini, here he describes his experiences...

At the start of October I visited one of the lesser known Greek Islands, an island I had heard so much about and always wanted to visit: Santorini. I was immediately blown away by the beauty of this magical, mysterious volcanic island. The west coast offered some of the most stunning scenery I had seen anywhere in the world. For only a small island it offers so much to see and do, from beautiful hotels, fabulous restaurants, wine tasting, great walks or even take a donkey to climb the steps around the island's capital, Thira, not to mention boat trips around the unique caldera.

The season runs from May until the end of October, but I would suggest avoiding the extremely hot and busy months of July & August. The end of May throughout June would be a lovely early season time and then mid-September to mid-October are ideal for a late summer break.

I stayed at a fantastic all-suite, small, luxury hotel and can highly recommend it. The rooms, service and staff were fantastic and the views from the breakfast terrace and swimming pool were to die for. They will be refurbishing all of the rooms again over the winter, so everything will be nice and fresh for the start of the 2013 season.
